A Ziegler Mahal carpet circa 1880, named after the English firm, Ziegler & Company that produced many rugs in the Arak area of Persia at the tail end of the 19th century. ┬áThe rugs that are identified as “Ziegler” are often ones using colors usually not seen in the other rugs made in the region. ┬áThis olive green color was one that sold well in the English market for which their production was aimed.
